About the project
"CLOUDS" proposes an immersive environment within the Great Hall at OCAD University. This project illustrates my adeptness in prototyping and integrating advanced technologies to create compelling interactive experiences. The installation envisions a ceiling adorned with cloud formations, transforming the space into a surreal, dreamlike world. By incorporating sensors and LED lights within each cloud, the installation becomes a living, responsive entity, altering its colors and luminance in reaction to the ambient sound levels.
The project's core aim is to bridge the gap between reality and imagination, aligning with OCAD's commitment to fostering creative and innovative thinking. Through "CLOUDS," we sought to engage the university community, inviting individuals to interact with their surroundings in new and unexpected ways, thereby enhancing their daily experience through art.
Project results
In this collaborative endeavor, my primary responsibility was the seamless integration of sound-reactive technology using TouchDesigner. This critical component allowed the clouds to become living elements within the space, changing their color and brightness in response to the surrounding sound environment, thus reflecting the natural rhythm of the university's daily life. My role extended beyond technical integration to encompass project management, where I ensured that our collective vision was executed efficiently and effectively. I coordinated between different team members, overseeing the project's progression from conceptual art created in Blender to the interactive prototypes developed in Unity.
